A Guide to Seamless Global Shipping with Globax Solutions
Introduction: Why Freight Forwarding is Your Supply Chain Solution
Define Freight Forwarder: A Freight Forwarder (FF), like Globax Solutions, is an agent who organizes the shipment of goods for individuals or corporations to get goods from the manufacturer or producer to the final market, customer, or distribution point. They are the orchestrator of your logistics.
The Value: We don’t own the planes or ships, but we have the contracts, expertise, and network to find the best route, carrier, and rate for your cargo.
Step 1: Booking and Preparation (The Beginning)
The Quote: The client provides cargo details (dimensions, weight, commodity, origin/destination). Globax provides a quote covering freight rates, insurance, and estimated transit time.
Booking: Once the quote is accepted, we book the necessary space on a vessel (ship) or aircraft (Air Waybill) with the carrier.
Documentation: We prepare initial documents, including the Shipping Instructions, which contain all the necessary details for the shipment.
Step 2: Pickup and Inland Transportation
The Move: We arrange for the cargo to be picked up from your factory or warehouse.
Inland Transit: The cargo is then transported by road or rail to the consolidation warehouse or directly to the origin port/airport terminal.
Step 3: Export Customs Clearance (The CHA’s Role)
The Critical Barrier: This is where the legal process begins. Our in-house Customs House Agent (CHA) takes charge.
Filing: The CHA prepares and files the Shipping Bill and other required export documents with the Customs Authority.
Verification: Customs may inspect the cargo. The CHA facilitates this smoothly, aiming for the “Let Export Order” (LEO)—the official permission for the goods to leave the country.
Step 4: Consolidation and Handling
LCL Cargo: If your cargo is Less than Container Load (LCL), it is taken to a Container Freight Station (CFS) where it is consolidated (stuffed) with other compatible cargo into a full container (FCL).
FCL Cargo: If your cargo is Full Container Load (FCL), the container is sealed at the factory or warehouse and delivered straight to the port.
Step 5: Main Carriage (The Transit)
Loading: Once cleared, the container is loaded onto the contracted vessel or aircraft.
Proof of Shipment: Upon loading, the carrier issues the Bill of Lading (B/L) for sea freight or the Air Waybill (AWB) for air freight. Globax tracks the cargo and issues these documents to you, providing a verifiable receipt.
Tracking: We provide real-time updates while your cargo is in transit across the ocean or sky.
Step 6: Import Customs Clearance (Destination)
Arrival: The cargo arrives at the destination port.
Filing: The Import Customs Broker (often a partner of Globax) files the Bill of Entry with the destination country’s Customs Authority.
Duties and Taxes: The importer pays all required duties, taxes, and fees. Once clearance is granted, the cargo is released.
Step 7: Delivery and Final Mile
Unloading & De-consolidation: If the shipment was LCL, it is de-consolidated from the container at a CFS.
Final Delivery: Globax arranges the final transport (the “final mile”) to deliver the cargo directly to the consignee’s door or specified warehouse, completing the entire process.
