Your Global Passport: Step-by-Step DGFT IEC Registration Guide by Globax Solutions

What is the IEC Code and Why is it Mandatory?

The IEC is a 10-digit unique alphanumeric code that acts as the primary identity for any business engaging in international trade (importing into or exporting from India).

Without an IEC, you cannot:

  1. Clear goods through Customs.

  2. Receive payments in foreign currency from your bank.

  3. Avail export benefits and incentives under the Foreign Trade Policy (like RoDTEP).

Pre-Requisites: Documents You Must Have Ready

Since the IEC is PAN-based and fully digital, the required documents are minimal and must be scanned and ready for upload.
